Our Message to Youth

Element_907a.jpg

At Valley Brook, we take teens seriously. They have gifts and are capable of just about anything. We strongly believe that they are the church of TODAY, not tomorrow. We understand they are growing up in a culture that bombards them with messages. Every time they turn on the TV, surf the net, put on headphones, and look at magazines, they are being sold images and messages - some of which are harmless, but almost none have the student's best interest in mind.

Our message to teens at Valley Brook is this:

You are important; You matter; You are the star of the show; You don't have to wait to have a relationship with God; You don't have to wait to make a difference.

God is real, relevant, and right up your alley. He loves you. He wants you to be part of His family. He has big plans for your life. That is a message that can make a difference in the life of a teenager. To be loved and taken seriously.

Our message of Hope . . .

We provide a safe place to begin the journey towards a relationship with God. To learn about Him, to become part of His family. We have programs and people just for teenagers. We know that getting through these years has never been harder, so we have committed to being a positive message amidst the daily bombardment. We are committed to making this a safe place for any teenager, religious or not, because we feel if you really begin to grasp the message of hope and love that is God, it will change you.

You can get started on your journey, or just come to hang out with some friends. Everyone is welcome, and everyone is valued for who they are!

Sunday School

We provide the opportunity for our students in grades 6-12 to attend a Sunday School class following the musical part of our worship services.  Classes are broken into two groups: Middle School (grades 6-8), and High School (grades 9-12).  The Sunday School classes provide Bible study, teaching and discussion to help students apply God's Word to their lives.  On the first Sunday of the month, these students remain in church for the entire service and are invited to participate in Communion.

The Hartford Project: A Great Success!

"The best ever!" That's what one student said about this year's mission trip to Hartford!

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:40)

We spent a week in the north end of Hartford serving area churches and ministries. Keep an eye out for photos and videos of what God did during the amazing week of June 24-28!

30 Hour Famine was a blast!

Student Ministries participated for the 4th consecutive year in the 30 Hour Famine...the Jr. & Sr. High students went without food for 30 hours. All proceeds raised were donated to the World Vision organization. We had a fun photo scavenger hunt, great worship and life-chnaging lessons. Thanks for being and hands and feet of Him!
