STUDENT MINISTRIES DIRECTOR/YOUTH PASTOR POSITION

Background

Valley Brook is a rapidly growing church with a contemporary style of worship, located northwest of Hartford, CT in the Farmington Valley. With the help of a core team of dedicated members, Pastor Clark Pfaff planted Valley Brook in September of 2000. We have experienced steady growth over our eight years of ministry, averaging over 300 in attendance. 450 people recently attended our Easter Service. Valley Brook has four visible strengths. First, we believe that God is real, relevant, and relational, and we teach that through strong biblical preaching presented in a practical format to reach the unsaved community while building up believers. Second, our worship is contemporary in sound and beat with a full band led by our worship leader, who directs both an adult and youth band. Third, we have a tremendous ministry to children with almost 50% of the Sunday crowd being below the age of 18 years old. We have a thriving Children's Ministry led by a Children's Ministry Director and volunteer staff. Fourth we have a growing Student Ministry that is winning students to Christ, discipling students, preparing leaders, and sending out students with a strong foundation for faith in the world.

Another distinctive of Valley Brook is our small group ministry. Life Groups, which are our ministry of small groups is a focus of strength at Valley Brook, with upwards of 15 groups meeting weekly throughout last year. We expect staff and leaders to be committed to a Life Group.

Our mission is "To bring people to Jesus and MEMBERSHIP in His family, develop them to Christ-like MATURITY, and equip them for their MINISTRY in the church and life MISSION in the world in order to MAGNIFY God's name." In other words, we exist to bring people in, build them up, and send them out!

We commonly say that Valley Brook is a place to know and grow with God. The core of our congregation embraces that understanding. They understand that we want to help spiritual seekers come to know God through faith in Jesus Christ, and they know that we want to help them and these new believers grow in their relationship with God.
